When Jess, a liberal Black woman, and Josh, a preppy white conservative, fall reluctantly, complicatedly, deeply in love, they are forced to ask themselves whether love can overcome two very different ways of seeing the world.

'Acutely smart' - Elizabeth Day, author of Magpie

'Completely addictive' – Taylor Jenkins Reid, author of Daisy Jones and the Six

'Funny, sexy, unafraid, completely unputdownable' – India Knight, author of Darling

Jess first meets Josh at their Ivy League college. He is an entitled white guy in chinos, ready to inherit the world. She is almost always the only Black woman in their class. And she’s not expecting to inherit anything.

After graduation, Jess and Josh end up working at the same bank. They share lunch, they share sparring matches, they share ambitions. And suddenly they’re sleeping together . . .

Cecilia Rabess' Everything's Fine is hilarious, heartbreaking and impossible to put down.

'Spectacular' – Curtis Sittenfeld, author of Romantic Comedy
'Addictive and extremely funny' –Jenny Colgan, author of The Summer Skies
'Stunning’
– Meg Mason, author of Sorrow and Bliss
'Plain funny as hell'
– Zakiya Dalila Harris, author of The Other Black Girl
'I loved this. One Day with teeth'
- Naomi Wood, author of This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things

About Amplify Bookstore

An anti-racist social enterprise bookstore specialising in BIPOC books.

Only about 11% of books published are by BIPOC authors — so unless you specifically seek out books by BIPOC authors, you aren't likely to find very many of them organically. At Amplify, BIPOC authors are highlighted and celebrated. Here, they don't have to fight to be seen, and you don't have to fight to find them.

We hope that in our shop, you can discover a new favourite read, find stories that speak uniquely to you, learn about a culture outside your own (or more about your own histories), and gain a better understanding of the systems that connect us all.

Within are thoughtfully curated books, and I was amazed to see a great diversity of authors. The atmosphere is cosy, calm and relaxed – just the perfect way to start my Sunday!

I loved how inclusive this space was, there were dyslexia friendly books and a space for books about queer love, a bit of something for everyone.
