Pay It Forward
With our Pay It Forward program, you can seamlessly support other bookish BIPOC initiatives!
How it works:
1. Select who you’d like to ‘pay it forward’ to.
2. Add this product to your cart and checkout as usual.
3. If you have a specific book you’d like to send through, add it to the form attached to this product. Otherwise, we will let the organisations pick
At the end of every month, we’ll collate the books and send it through to the different organisations.
To kick off the program, we’ve selected two organisations that we’ve been supporting for some time now: MURMUR LIBRARY and BLACKFULLA BOOK CLUB.
Murmur Library is a Black-owned Brunswick-based community library for voices and stories to exist outside the white gaze. View their wishlist and catalogue here.
Blackfulla Bookclub celebrates Aboriginal stories and Aboriginal voices. Run by Teela Reid and Merinda Dutton, their instagram page celebrates books by Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander authors and provides a space for these voices to shine outside of the boundaries of whiteness.
** This is just the start for our Pay It Forward program. If you are part of an organisation that would like to be part of this program, send us an email at info@amplifybookstore.com

Publishing has a diversity problem. There are less 'diverse' books being published which limits the discoverability and reach of those authors.
Representation is important. Read more about why we exist here.
An anti-racist social enterprise bookstore specialising in BIPOC books.
Only about 11% of books published are by BIPOC authors — so unless you specifically seek out books by BIPOC authors, you aren't likely to find very many of them organically. At Amplify, BIPOC authors are highlighted and celebrated. Here, they don't have to fight to be seen, and you don't have to fight to find them.
We hope that in our shop, you can discover a new favourite read, find stories that speak uniquely to you, learn about a culture outside your own (or more about your own histories), and gain a better understanding of the systems that connect us all.
